Collections

Sculptural forms crafted from authenticated Ancient Kauri.

Each collection represents a distinct relationship between material, scale, and space.

A Language of Form

Icewood collections are not designed as product categories. They are typologies of spatial expression developed from rare Ancient Kauri material.

Each form is shaped in response to:

• grain structure

• slab geometry

• natural imperfections

• spatial intention

The result is a system of objects that behave more like architectural elements than furniture.

Collections

DINING

Large-scale dining forms designed as architectural anchors within interior space.

Dining pieces are developed as central spatial objects, defined by proportion, material weight, and natural grain movement.

They are intended to hold gatherings, not simply serve function.

COFFEE

Lower sculptural forms that explore balance, mass, and horizontal grain expression.

Coffee forms emphasize proximity to material detail. They are designed for intimate spatial interaction, where grain and texture become dominant visual elements.

MONUMENTAL FORMS

Large-scale sculptural works that define spatial identity within a room.

Monumental Forms are developed from rare slabs with exceptional scale and structural presence. These pieces act as architectural anchors within interior environments.

They are not furniture objects — they are spatial statements.

PRIVATE COMMISSIONS

Bespoke works developed in collaboration with architects, designers, and private collectors.

Private commissions are guided by material availability, spatial context, and architectural intent.

Each piece is uniquely resolved around a specific environment and slab.

Principles of Form

All Icewood collections follow three principles:

1. Material-Led Design

Form is determined by the natural structure of Ancient Kauri.

2. Spatial Integration

Each piece is designed in relation to its surrounding architecture.

3. Structural Permanence

Objects are conceived as long-term spatial elements, not temporary furnishings.

All Icewood collections are crafted from authenticated Ancient Kauri, a prehistoric material recovered and documented in New Zealand.

A System of Forms

Icewood collections define a structured approach to sculptural furniture and spatial objects.

Each category reflects a different relationship between material, scale, and architectural intent.

Together, they form a continuous system of design grounded in prehistoric material presence.
